Wizz Air to reopen Prague – Yerevan flights

Prague has a chance to regain direct connections with Armenia. The last time of the Prague to Yerevan connection, Hungarian Wizz Air was operating the route from June 26 to September 15, 2023, but they were experiencing difficulties. Neither Prague nor Yerevan were Wizz Air's bases at that time. The operation was normally provided by aircraft from the base in Milan. One aircraft departed on the Malpensa - Yerevan - Prague - Malpensa route and the other in the opposite direction. This not only ensured service on the Prague - Yerevan route, but also on Milan - Prague and Milan - Yerevan ones.

On Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at 7:49 p.m., an Airbus A321neo, registration HA-LGV (production number 12575, manufactured 2025), operated by Wizz Air, landed at Prague Airport. The Airbus operated the first flight on the reopened route from the Armenian capital, Yerevan. Prague has had direct air connections with Armenia for the first time in two years since yesterday. Wizz Air last flew on the route in September 2023.

The route to Prague returned thanks to Wizz Air establishing a base at Yerevan Airport. In addition to the already established connections to Larnaca, Sofia, Rome (Fiumicino), Venice, Milan (Malpensa), Budapest, Vienna and Dortmund, while the opening of the new base allowed launching further direct flights to the following destinations - Hamburg, Prague, Nice, Paphos, Naples, Bari, Bucharest and Memmingen. Wizz Air preferentially allocates capacity to markets (and routes) where it achieves greater profitability, i.e. the Central and Eastern European region.

The route W6 7859 from Yerevan to Prague will operate 3 times a week. It will arrive at Prague Airport every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 19:50. The departure of the route W6 7860 to Yerevan is scheduled for 20:25.

Wizz Air has reduced its presence in Prague, now growth is coming again. It has previously announced new routes to Bucharest, Iasi, Skopje and Sofia.

The carrier flies from Prague to eight destinations in its summer 2025 flight schedule. This is a decrease compared to last summer. In addition to Milan, Venice, Naples and Varna have also been dropped from the list of destinations. The company's pink planes fly daily to Rome (Fiumicino) and London (Luton). Five times a week to London Gatwick and to Larnaca in Cyprus. Four times a week to Tirana. Three times a week not only to Yerevan, but also to Kutaisi, and twice a week to Catania.
